If you haven't booked your summer vacation yet, there's still time to find a good deal. According to new data from Expedia, August 11 and August 17 are expected to be among the cheapest days to fly internationally this summer.

Travel experts say airfare often drops in mid-August as family vacations wind down and back-to-school season begins. With fewer travelers competing for seats, airlines frequently lower fares to help fill flights.

Expedia also found that August is the most affordable month to fly during the summer. Travelers may find better prices on flights to destinations like Fort Lauderdale, Orlando, Myrtle Beach, Atlantic City, Mykonos, Santorini, Toulouse, and Santo Domingo.

If your schedule is flexible, waiting until mid-August instead of traveling during late June or early July could also lead to lower hotel prices and fewer crowds.

On the other hand, December remains the most expensive month to fly due to increased demand during the holiday season.

The Takeaway: If you're still planning a summer getaway, don't assume the best deals are gone. Mid-August can offer lower airfare, more affordable hotels, and a less crowded travel experience compared to peak summer weeks.
